The body knows the way,
we just practice listening
In a world that numbs and distracts, The Body is the Blueprint is a return to the artistry of being alive
While many retreat and embodiment companies focus solely on wellness or spiritual practice, Body is the Blueprint is rooted in creative healing…. where art becomes a portal to transformation. At the heart of our work is reminding women what has always been innately accessible to them: creative expression, curiosity, and the power of their own bodies and minds. We believe everyone is creative. We believe yoga is for everyone. We believe embodiment is possible through simple modalities, not the enlightenment.
As artists, we understand that creation itself is medicine. Paint, movement, writing, and sound aren’t just expressions: they are pathways back to the body, mirrors of our inner world. Our work bridges the space between art and embodiment, blending the sacred with the sensory, the personal with the collective.
At Body is the Blueprint, the arts are not an afterthought…. they are the foundation. We do not believe the creative process should be gate-kept. We approach healing and embodiment the same way — as a something accessible to all.
Every experience is designed not to escape the world, but to return to it more awake, more connected, and more whole.
We see creative process and movement as medicine: a mirror that reflects both the wound and the wisdom. When we create, we don’t bypass pain; we move with it, we shape it, we make meaning from it. That’s the alchemy of our work…. turning lived experience into creation, and creation into deeper embodiment.
Retreats:
We create immersive somatic, creative, and adventure experiences around the world.
Through movement, art, writing, and reflection, women reconnect to their inner wisdom in playful, accessible ways. You don’t need to be an artist, yogi or even avid hiker: you just need curiosity and a willingness to return to your body. Our retreats are a space to slow down, explore, and see life from a new perspective: like joy, adventure and excitement!
What our creative embodiment institute really is:
Society teaches us to search outside ourselves for answers: in achievement, appearance, or approval…. but we believe the body already carries everything we need.
Education:
Our online classes, embodiment workshops, and creative writing practices are designed to fit into any life.
Whether it’s five minutes of movement, a short art exercise, or journaling practice, we make creative embodiment approachable and practical. You’ll discover how accessible it is to bring presence, imagination, and body wisdom into your everyday life.
Community:
Healing and growth happen best in connection.
Our membership platform (coming soon!) is a space for ongoing mentorship, sharing, and collective embodiment. Women gather to move, create, and reflect together — no prior experience required — and leave feeling seen, supported, and inspired. Feeling supported and fully seen for our true selves is the gift that continues giving back in our daily lives.
Expansion:
Our end vision includes the building of a physical creative hub and safe space— where artist residencies, retreats, and learning can flourish. This communal space will be a sanctuary for women and creatives to return to again and again, a place to explore, create, and grow together. It’s our commitment to making creative embodiment, art, and somatic practice accessible, sustainable, and deeply rooted in community.
reconnection saved our life:
For years, we lived disconnected from our body-
From founder, Sam:
There was a time when I felt like my body was working against me. Chronic illness, trauma, and the lingering effects of abuse left me disconnected, exhausted, and afraid of my own nervous system.
Everything felt like survival. No matter how much I achieved or produced, I couldn’t out-run the ache underneath. The symptoms were loud…but the answers I was given were clinical, dismissive, and often shaming.
It wasn’t until I began listening to my body — not overriding it — that things began to shift. Through yoga, painting, somatic healing, and rest, I started to feel safe again. I stopped treating my body like a problem to solve and started honoring her as a map. I am still working on finding my way fully home.
This is the work that saved me ….not all at once, but piece by piece. Little by little. This space was born from that journey. A return to the truth that the body holds it all — pain, yes, but also power.
we’ve been trained to
leave ourselves behind:
We live in a world that conditions women to distrust + abandon their own bodies-
From a young age, we’re taught to be palatable, productive, and pleasing — to look good and be good… rather than feel whole.
We’re told to silence our instincts.
To downplay our cycles.
To make ourselves smaller, quieter, easier to digest.
So it’s no wonder that so many women feel numb, burnt out, anxious, or lost. Not because we’ve failed… but because we’ve survived systems that rewarded our disembodiment. Disconnected, diseased and disassociated women are govenerable. We are conditioned to shrink ourselves, to remain disconnected from our true power and voice.
But disconnection doesn’t have to be the end of the story.
When we begin to listen to our inner cues, when we reclaim the body as our wisest teacher — something wise and intuitive awakens beneath the surface.
This work is about that remembering.
It’s about learning how to live from the inside out: with more softness, more clarity, more choice. We get to do the choosing.
Because when a woman returns to her body, she returns to her truth.
And that changes everything—
growth without bypassing
is imperative:
We reject the idea of a ‘healed’ body being one that is always calm, steady and polite-
Returning to your body means feeling what lives there — the full spectrum of emotions, sensations, and memories. It’s not just joy, ease, or calm. It’s anger, grief, sadness, frustration, and everything in between. True embodiment invites you to witness it all, without judgment or rushing to “fix” it.
We understand and recognize that a body that feels rage, fear and reaction is a body that is still alive. We do not believe in “rising above”, “negative emotions” or the need to regulate. We do not adhere to the systems that colonize the thought of emotional rules we are working so hard to unlearn.
Healing is personal and political. We honor individual liberation while staying tethered to the realities of the systems, privileges, and oppressions that shape our lives. Growth is never isolated — it’s a balance between inner awareness and outer accountability.
